The Apprenticeship Scheme is a great way for young individuals like you to access the
care industry when previously you may not have had the opportunity to gain experience
in this field. A scheme like this could lead to a rewarding and challenging career!
We are working in partnership with Filton College and
JHP Training. As an apprentice, you will gain practical
experience within our care homes/support services whilst our
partners will assess and support you to successfully complete
an NVQ level 2/Diploma in Health and Social Care.
It will take 2 years to complete your NVQ 2/Diploma and to
gain enough experience to become a Support Worker with
the Trust.
The Trust will provide:
We believe that by giving you this opportunity we are supporting our local community
as well as our clients.
To enable us to promote a truly diverse workforce and to meet the requirements of our service users, the Trust is keen to recruit younger workers. So in September 2009 Aspects and Milestones Trust launched its new Support Worker Apprenticeship Scheme.
By setting up an Apprenticeship Scheme for 16-24 year olds, our aim is not only to celebrate and promote the care industry, but also to welcome new talent and provide a recognised career path for that talent.
Here are comments from just 2 of this year's apprentices:
"I am an apprentice care worker at Hesding Close and it was the best decision I ever made doing the apprenticeship there. I have learnt a lot of skills, I have been respected and have made lots of friends.
I really enjoy working here because everybody treats you the same, its a very good experience, you learn a lot about different illnesses and it gives you an amazing feeling knowing that you are helping people."
"When I started my apprenticeship I was very shy and this experience has helped my confidence grow. This was a great opportunity for me and I have met so many nice people."
